What if the most profound and impactful social and emotional learning curriculum could be realized through the quality of every day social interactions children experience at school?  And what if simple ways of caring for our own well-being as educators is the starting point to nurturing this wholeness in students?

We have so much we wish for our children – not just academic success, but a sense of self-worth and joy, fulfilling relationships and, hopefully, the capacity to serve as effective contributors and leaders in our world.  And yet so many of our young people are struggling with significant anxiety, depression, self-hatred, and social conflict.  Educators are longing and searching for new ways to understand and engage young people, along with ways to maintain their own sense of wellness and hope.

Drawing from contemplative practices, emerging brain science, mindfulness and the most impactful psychological constructs, such as Internal Family Systems, the Practice of PAUSE provides a framework for teachers and students to:

  • Nurture self-awareness, self-regulation and inner connection.
  • Engage with calm, compassion, and clarity when interacting with others.
  • Approach life’s challenges with a spirit of courage and confidence.

Rather than more to do, the Practice of P.A.U.S.E invites us into a new way of being so that in the very rhythm of our everyday lives, we find healing, connection and the power to contribute our best. We hope you will leave this workshop with fresh perspectives and practical strategies to integrate into your personal practice. These strategies can be employed moment-by-moment with your students to uplift their lives and yours.
