Kristen Picard

Kristen Picard (or Kris) is a teacher, speaker, and student. She took her first yoga class in 2004 and fell in love with the practice. In 2007, she became a certified yoga instructor through Central Mass Yoga and Wellness in West Boylston, MA. Yoga and meditation have since become a central part of her daily life. By embracing a contemplative and mindful lifestyle, Kris’s days are infused with purpose and peace. As a teacher and speaker, Kris focuses on encouraging various aspects of mindful living such as healthy lifestyle choices as well as mindfulness practices such as yoga and meditation. She offers participants a rich understanding of mindfulness by presenting a foundation of philosophy and research, which is solidified through experiential learning.

Kris is currently a student at Lesley University in Cambridge, MA where she is pursuing her Ph.D. in Adult Learning and Development, a field that includes the study of adults’ capacity for change. In her research, Kris is exploring the growth experiences reported by adults as they develop and deepen their mindfulness meditation practices. The theories explored in her academic work serve as the foundation for her lifework as a teacher, a speaker, and a lifelong student.
