With Christine Farag
January 21, 2022
Tonglen directly translates to “sending and receiving” in Tibetan, and is used as a therapeutic tool in Tibetan medicine. We will be learning Tonglen, an ancient Tibetan Buddhist practice. Through this form of mind training, we will cultivate loving kindness and compassion and transform pain and suffering. Through this practice, we will learn to face our own pain and the pain of others while strengthening our resolve to serve and be of benefit. This program is perfect for anyone who wants to expand their meditation practice and receive more compassion from themselves and others. It is also a wonderful practice for anyone in healing professions, or anyone working with pain and suffering.
Techniques we will use:
- Breath work
- Visualization
Skills we will develop:
- Anchoring in Bodhicitta or “enlightenment-mind”
- Courage to face difficulties and hardship
- Transforming perceptions of pain and suffering
- Increased loving kindness and compassion
