Awakening and Remembering: Men's Day of Mindfulness
With Tim St. Onge
February 3, 2018
IDEAL FOR: All levels including beginners
To be awake is to be alive.
I have never yet met a man who was quite awake.
How could I have looked him in the face?
– Henry David Thoreau
To be fully awake is our greatest calling and to offer our full presence with integrity is our most powerful resource. Men all over the world are seeking to create a more conscious brotherhood. As we do so, there is a need for support and connection with one another.
This day of mindfulness practice is an opportunity for beginners and seasoned practitioners of mindfulness to be supported in a group as we learn to open to what we could call our “heart intellect” — the essential balancing of thinking and discernment with warmth and joy. This daylong experiential retreat blends an introduction to the principles of mindfulness with periods of practice, including sitting and walking meditation, laughter, and mindful communication. We will explore simple opportunities to bring mindfulness practice into work, family life and relationships. We’ll also discuss tips and resources for continued practice in daily life.
Tuition: $125 and includes lunch.
